A letter from a coaching client

Dear Andy,

I am writing this letter to you in appreciation for the coaching and mentoring you have provided me with over the past eight months. We have addressed, made progress, and accomplished several goals that I had previously procrastinated. On my own, I always felt like I would eventually get around to working on my health, saving more money, and developing stronger relationships. With your help, I have taken action and have made significant progress in each of these three (extremely) important aspects of my life.

One of the reasons I enjoy talking to you about health, fitness, and weight loss is because I know you have accomplished so much in that area yourself. It is inspiring to see what you have done. I constantly find myself saying things like, “If Andy can do it, so can I.” This is especially motivating on the treadmill at the gym, where I consistently push myself to go a little faster, or a little further in my workouts. I also appreciate your helpful hints on eating better and keeping track of what I consume. Thus far, I have lost fifteen pounds and I can’t wait to reach fifty!

It has been easy to talk about my finances with you because I know you understand the Vector business inside and out and I don’t have to explain things in detail for you to empathize with me. You have helped me face my fears of looking at my credit report and taking action on improving my status. Also, in the past two months, I have comfortably set aside 40% of my income instead of squandering it away for lack of financial goals.

We have also spent a significant amount of time working on my people skills – helping me be more direct with people in particular. This has proven beneficial in my personal and professional relationships. Heidi and I are moving closer to getting engaged and it feels good to strengthen our relationship through clearer communication before taking that step. Work is going well and I am continually improving my ability to get my viewpoints and suggestions across to the people I counsel.

In general, I love the consistent theme you portray that I can attract anything I want in my life. I believe strongly in the Law of Attraction, but at times I find it hard to exercise. You have helped me realize that I have much more control over my life than I used to think. For example, last week I listened to 30 minutes of “The Secret” on my iPod while driving to Peoria to help my sister do some spring cleaning. I decided to think openly about how I can attract more income this year. Later than day, while going through some old papers and cards, I found a birthday card from my grandmother from 2003. Before throwing it away, I opened the card to find a $20 bill taped inside! This may seem small, but it is the type of thing that happens frequently when I am open to the idea of attracting more of anything to myself. Thanks again for all your help and I wish you continued success in helping people realize their dreams!

Sincerely,
Steve Roach
